The last time I updated, I was broke and jobless. Now I have a job... but I'm still broke.
.
.
.
Apparently, Red Bull, Benadryl, a cup of coffee, half a glass of white wine and an empty stomach don't mix. AT ALL. So now, not only can I not sleep, I have a splitting headache and I feel like throwing up every 3 seconds.

On a totally unrelated note, I CAN'T WAIT FOR AUGUST 5! OH TRENT!!!! TRENTTRENTRENTRENT!

5th-Jan-2009 08:01 am - new year, same me
blues brothers
According to lj, it's been 9 weeks since my last update.

My, my...

I haven't been busy. Yes, I have a job, but it's hardly keeping me busy. Tired, yes. Busy, no. These days, all I seem to be doing is sleeping, going to work and eating. Terribly exciting, no?

Anyway, belated Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.

My next update, who knows... :D
17th-Oct-2008 08:42 am - Hello... echooooo
blues brothers
Haven't posted anything in ages. I am truly ashamed of myself. How is everyone? Anyone pregnant? Get married? Went to rehab? Tell me, please.

Little updates:

1. I GRADUATED. Yes, I have my diploma (sort of) and a degree.

2. Because I need a dose of sports in my life, I am now into tennis. And Rafa. And Roger. And, recently, Feli. I woke up at 2 this morning just to watch Federer and Tsonga's game. It's always at ungodly hours these games. I remember waking up at 3 just to watch the US Open. Rafa, as you may know, lost to Murray. Boo. Anyway, I'm very excited for the Lopez/Nadal match. Nadal will most likely win, but watching Lopez play is fun. :D

Hoping for a Nadal/Federer final.

3. I got a new camera... but I can't transfer the pics to the computer because the fuckin thing is beyond broken. How I'm able to type this/ surf/ download shit is beyond me. Turning this thing on is an art. I want a new one, but I'm, like this stupid computer, broke. :(

4. Saul Williams is rocking my world. Maybe it's because he works with Trent, maybe my taste in music is changing... who knows. I like his cover of Sunday, Bloody Sunday better than the original.

5. Did I say I graduated? :P

6. I now enjoy mutilating my foot. Right now, there's 2 feet of bandage wrapped around my right foot. I can't help it, it itches so bad. Scratching does no good at all, so i start nipping at it. The next thing I know, it's bleeding. When the pain starts, the itching goes away. I like the pain better than the itching.

7. I am unemployed. I was going to look for a job yesterday but I changed my mind. I'm going on a job fare on Monday with Katrina. I promised myself a week of relaxation after graduation and by God, I'm keeping my promise.

8. I cut my hair.

9. I made a new blog. Technically, it's not new... I made it a long time ago. I'm going to use that blog and this as well. I don't know why I need two blogs, but meh... Add me if you like, I'd gladly add you back. :D

Midterms is next week, but I won't allow myself to stress over that. I've been stressing way too much lately and my hair has been suffering because of it. The only good thing to come out of all this is that my mom, the lovely, lovely being that she is, bought me 2 new pair of shoes and a lovely big bag- it was her way of distressing me, bringing cheer back into my life.

No stress.

To add to the stresslessness (that's an actual word in my very own dictionary... to be published next year. WAIT FOR IT. It will be EPIC) of this week, me and my mom went make-up shopping. It was fun, but not as fun as shoe-shopping. Unfortunately, my funds are limited, so is mother dearest's. We had to decide between buying lovely new shoes and saving that money to pay for dinner. Dinner won. Plus, I don't think Padre would be too happy if he found out that we spent money subsidized for food on shoes. XP Met up father dearest after make-up shopping and had dinner at Krua Thai.

Anyhoos... How about a little fun? Well, fun for me. Request any picture related to me. It could be my bed, my dog, my school bag, anything... Just keep it PG-15. :P I'll post the pictures in the next post.

I need to stop ignoring my lj and all my lovely lj friends. I'll mail all of you something... someday.

Because I can... and because this song is stuck in my head. Damn radio.

2nd-Aug-2008 09:31 pm - here kitty
blues brothers
Because I know she'll end up with us eventually, I present our soon to be new family member, Kitty:

Isn't she adorable? She is so tiny. My mom fell in love with her and wants to keep her. I tried to convince her to give Kitty away because we already have seven dogs and waking up to the smell of 7 dogs is not pleasant but she's so attached to her already. She's 80% sure we're keeping her. She's adorable and all, but an 8th dog? Really?

kitty! )

So uhm... how is everyone? Did anyone catch the solar eclipse? I missed it. :(

The Dark Knight is awesome.

'Nuff said.

Me and Riod watched it yesterday because I wouldn't shut up about it. I kept pestering him to watch it with me. I watched it mostly for Heath Ledger and because of all the hype. Didn't disappoint. And Heath was freakin awesome. He played The Joker so well. Every time Joker went off the screen, I'd go ballistic. 'Where the f is Heath?! I did not watch this movie for SeƱor Bale. I need Joker's awesomeness.'

I think Christian Bale is the sexiest Batman (sorry, George... the nipples were a turn-off) but my favorite batman will always be Adam West. I've only seen a couple of episodes of Batman, but good God Adam West is amusing. It's the most fun-filled, laughter-inducing show ever. The costume, the villains, the sound effects, ROBIN! 'Holy baby Eskimos, Batman!'

Anyway, i finally filled for graduation yesterday. My submission deadline was two days ago, but I'm the procrastinating queen. Also, yesterday was really messed up- I spent a shitload of money, I drank an insane amount of coffee, I got caught in the rain without an umbrella again and my poor, poor, lovely shoes got soaked. I really wouldn't mind getting wet, but my shoes... And they were my second favorite pair too!

Girly rant aside, this DVD cover is ridiculous:

Found it yesterday before going to see The Dark Knight. It's Mr. And Mrs. Smith II: Rise of the Vampire Spies. Good photoshop, yes?

And before I go... GO WATCH THE DARK KNIGHT.

edited: oh lordy... night != knight. I can't spell. :( sadness

Hot. The world is HOT. Cebu is HOT. I am HOT. I can't move and not sweat. I hate the heat. I hate sweating. I hate the damn sun. Where be the rain? It's supposed to be the rainy season now. Jeez. Damn it global warming!

I made blueberry popsicles! Simple syrup + blueberry preserve + lime cordial + grenadine +water = happiness on a stick.

I wish I could shower every 5 minutes.

Anyhoos... Premids... Haven't studied.... Is screwed. Yay.
7th-Jul-2008 12:23 am - i'm an addict
blues brothers
No, really. I have a serious substance abuse problem. I'm insanely addicted to these:

Yes, Yakult. They're ridiculously good. I can't stop at one. I have to have another, then another... Just today, I drank 6 little bottles. SIX. I'm on my seventh now. I'll stop only when there's nothing more to drink. Help me. :(

Since I've stumbled upon this wiki article, I've done nothing but listen to power ballads. And hell, they're addictive.Shame the list didn't include any Bon Jovi songs. I'll Be There For You, You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer, Always and, of course, Bed of Roses- how could any one of these not be on that list?

Aerosmith has some power ballad-worthy songs too. Think Cryin', Dream On and I don't Wanna Miss a Thing. My definition of a power ballad is 'a song I will shamelessly sing at the top of my lungs' or 'songs I will sing in the shower'.

Anyhoos, a friend extended an invitation to a themed party. The theme was 'Grunge'. To me, grunge equals Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and of course, Nirvana. Fashion-wise, grunge = flannel. It was a fun, short-lived party where everyone dressed in plaid and therefore looked ridiculous. It was more of a 'let's gather around and listen to some 90's music' thing. Good times, but I had more fun when I got home and watched The Big Lebowski. The Dude is hilarious.

I think I might need glasses. I've always had 20-20 vision, but I've been having eye problems lately. I can't read a book and not feel nauseated. And it's not an excuse to not study for law, because I am busting my ass in school... sort of. I wasn't able to finish 'The Second Deadly Sin' because halfway through the damn book, my eyes and my head began to hurt. So there... eye problems. I'm going to an optometrist next week. I don't want to have to wear glasses. I know I'll be spending half of my day looking for them.

And because I can...
Gene Hackman as Royal Tenenbaum for your (mostly my) viewing pleasure. There are no words. No words. He is just.... WOW. Gene muther$%^&*!@Hackman.

11th-Jun-2008 09:24 pm - God is in the rain
blues brothers
As a kid, I never got the chance to play in the rain. I wasn't allowed to. Daphne and Dexter, our neighbor's kids, ones I vaguely remember, they always got to play in the rain. They'd be outside with their buckets, catching rain and jumping around. I'd be watching them from inside our house, asking my parents if I could join them. They always said no. I was a sickly kid. I understand now why they would always refuse. I didn't understand back then. I almost cried once. They almost gave in. Almost.

I walked in the rain with my best friend back in high school. Twice. Never got sick. We found money though. It was wet, but it was still money. The first time we found money was during lunch break, there were three of us- Princess, Myrtle and myself. We split the money between the three of us- never even crossed our mind to report it to the lost and found. The second time, it was only me and Princess. We split the money. I used my share for cab fare. I remember saying how we should always walk in the rain, maybe we'll keep finding money and get rich. I think the money we found was the universe's way of apologizing to me for getting my wallet stolen back when I was a freshman.

It rained today. I wanted to go out and play; splash around like a kid, spin like they do in the movies- arms stretched, head up, giggling like an idiot. Or maybe just walk around, maybe I'll find money again. I wanted to but I didn't. I stayed inside and watched the kids play. I don't know why I didn't go out. Next time it rains, you'll find me outside, spinning and giggling like a half-wit. Promise.

I love rain. It makes everything look beautiful.

'Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain...'
